Both are great resourses to keep you up to date on what going on in education in the United states...I feel staying "plugged in" into whats going on in our Nation is a good start to becoming a great teacher.
Through my research for the final project I came across a professional development system called pdPoint by SchoolKiT....I was so insired by what the program had to offer and would tell any teacher to take a look at it and maybe present it to administration to put the sytem into use at thier own school!! Post 8
So I was reading chapter 8 and I could help but laugh when it got to the section of System Failure. I have lost so much data in the past, even last semester I erased a 10 page research paper I worked on for 4 days in a row by using the copy function on another open document then trying to open my paper but ended up replacing it by replacing with existing something or another button… try explaining that to a teacher! But I turned it in on time anyways….The section on learning how to backup all files is so important (and the computer I was using didn’t have the back up function activated)
To be honest I can’t recall anything new that I learned since the last post…well mainly because I just wrote the last just yesterdayJ1
Today has been a great day, I love when everything just falls in place!! Plus I always feel better when I wake up early and get a lot accomplished! By the way, does it feel hotter outside than it did last summer?…this heat is killing me! Oh yah...one week till graduationJ!!!!!

Awwww…the Sam Schugg story was so inspiring!! I love hearing story such as this one, which only motivates me more in pursuing a career in education.
Out of all the things we have learned thus far…that grade book formula for excel kicks butt!! I find it probably one of the most practical thing we have learned thus far.
I’m so overwhelmed right now…I’m trying to finish up my classes, book hotel reservations for family that’s coming up this way for my grad party, finish up the last couple of remodeling projects we have been doing in our home this summer (oh and bye the way…laminate floors are the best investment ever if you want the hard wood floor look but have dogs!!)..where was I, oh yah, maintain a life, help my fiancés uncle, wife and two kids move into a home out on Lake Jackson and plan a surprise party!! I love staying busy, but gosh I need a breakJ!!

I think a standard curriculum for each grade is extremely important. I hate hearing stories were kids have be held back a grade because they came from a school that was below the curb!
Memory is a funny thing….when you don’t use it you loose it! I’ve worked on excel before, but I feel like I just had to relearn everything again….so yah, I pretty much learned how to use excel in general!
Well, I got my car back so things are looking better…I can’t believe how fast the summer has gone!! I feel like I can’t stay on top of everything right now….man I can’t wait for graduationJ!!

Chapter 5 discusses about integrating visual media into the classroom. I’m a very big advocate on incorporating hands on activities that are visually stimulating into the classroom as much as possible. For one it aids students who are kinetic and visual learners plus adds some excitement! I’m all for learning as much as possible to bring new and exciting things into the classroom.
So last week I learned to hyperlink, but I was having trouble trying to figure out how to do it in my power point 2 assignment….but after many of agonizing hours I figured it out and was very pleased with the end result. I didn’t like that I spent so much time in this project, but I’m very happy the way it turned out…I give it “two thumbs up”…LOL!
So, I’ve missed a couple of classes because I’ve had a medical problem…don’t worry I’m not dieingJ….but anyways I’m so happy I’ve been able to keep up with the course work at home!! I love technologyJ! And I swear when it rain’s it pours….on top of everything else…I don’t have a car right now because it’s in the shop…my laptop that has wireless capabilities had to be sent to HP (thank god I purchased the 3 year warranty)…and a few other things are going on too! N-e-ways, just thought I would share my frustrationJ!

Chapter 4 had a lot of technical jargon about hardware… it pretty much dissected electronics for us. Honestly, it would probably take some hands on experience for me for the info to really sink in.

Well, today I’m a little depressed….it’s a beautiful Sunday and all my friends are out enjoying the day and I’m stuck behind a computer doing busy work….does anybody else feel the same way?

Chapter 3 talks about application software…I don’t know why but I’m so fascinated with Note Taking Software. I just can’t hear enough about it!! Maybe because it’s my lazy side coming out…J

Chapter 2 discuses the impact the internet has had on education!! All I know is that I hate having to go to the library if I don’t have to. Being able to search scholar articles online instead of having to go through thousands of old big books is nothing less than a blessing. Students these days can learn about anything their hearts desirer at the tip their fingers!!
I love…love…love…google imageJ!! I’m a clipart fiend!! But believe it or not I downloaded my first i-tune today…my fiancé has always uploaded my I-pod for me..so I’m proud to say that’s something new that I’ve learned.
As I mentioned before I’m only weeks away to graduating from FSU and I’m so excited to start a new chapter in my life, however I seem to not be able to leave college life behind. Chapter 1 talks about how students these days are submersed by technology…they are the “digital students” of today. Among the differences our digital students comprise compared to pervious generations…being better multitaskers is a the top of the list.
A lot of the gadgets that Chapter 1 talks about I’ve already have seen or hread about in the least…except one! I was very intrigued by the Tablet PC! I’m excited to learn about them in later chapters.
I’m excited to say that I got a wonderful job offer for when I graduate! I don’t want to disclose to much (I’m not sure others can know just yetJ) But I know I’m going to Love it!!!

Hi! I'm Jacqu! I am currently a senior at FSU...and I can't wait to graduate on Aug 4th!!!!....I just recently got engaged to my boyfriend of 4 years and we are planning our wedding for April 09'!...and i know 09' will be here faster than i could imagine.
I've been using a computer since I can't remember... I wouldn't consider myself to technology savy, but I'm not bad. I love love to text!! I never have wrote a blog before, so this is my first:)!
I'm hoping to learn creative ways to bring technology into the class room. I think it is extremly important to incorporate technology into all classsroom settings, because we now live in a world were we can't escape it. Hopefully, this course will help me sharpen my skills!
